Thinking about taking on Commando Series?

Here’s what you can expect when you step up to the start line:

The Commando Obstacle mud run is like no other. This is a military-inspired challenge designed to test your grit, determination and unity. So what can you expect? Here’s your no-nonsense guide to taking on the Commando Series – from arriving at the event village, getting warmed up by the Marines, to conquering 26 obstacles.

1) A Military-Style Obstacle Challenge

From tunnels and ropes to slippery slopes and river crossings, expect obstacles that are inspired by authentic Royal Marines training exercises. These include crawling through mud, hauling yourself across water hazards, climbing over walls and hay pyramids, and navigating tricky balance elements. The courses are designed to replicate elements of real commando training — and you’ll come out mud-soaked and exhilarated.

2) Options for Every Fitness Level

Whether you’re stepping up to your first obstacle event or you’re ready to push yourself to the limit, there’s a Commando challenge with your name on it. Choose from 3K, 6K or 12K routes – each ramping up the distance, obstacles and grit required to get it done.

Want to cruise round, take it all in and earn your finish? Go for it. Fancy being properly put through your paces and tackling it like a recruit on selection? That option’s waiting too.

3) Teamwork and Camaraderie are Key

At Commando, no one gets left behind. Whether you arrive with mates, family or take it on solo, you’ll quickly feel part of the troop. Obstacles are built to be conquered together –  a boost over a wall here, a steadying hand through the mud there.

Out on course, you’ll find encouragement from complete strangers and proper team spirit when it counts. Back in the event village, supporters line the sidelines, cheering you through to the finish like you’ve just completed basic training.

4) You'll Get Dirty

Mud, water, and challenging terrain are part of the experience. Many obstacles involve crawling in the mud, wading through river sections, and even negotiating water-filled pits. Come prepared to get wet, muddy and exhausted –  it’s all part of the fun! Expect to finish with mud caked everywhere and a huge sense of accomplishment.

5) A Sense of Achievement

Crossing the finish line isn’t just about completing the course –  it’s about earning the right to become a Commando. Earn your dog tag and you’ll immediately feel the thrill of having tackled something that pushes both your body and your mind. Afterward, you can celebrate in the event village with food, drinks, and live entertainment.
